My son got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 15 months old. To say this weekend was challenging would be an understatement. Katie went above and beyond to call pharmacies so we could get discharged and go home so I could sleep on a bed at 35 weeks pregnant. She patiently walked me through how to administer shots to my baby. Most importantly, she had joy which was something that kept our family smiling. She pushed my son around in a wagon for an hour while we could get educated. She was never bothered or annoyed when we asked too many questions. She is someone who radiates joy.
