Riley is an exceptional nurse and an amazing teammate who never hesitates to step in and lend a hand. On one particular day, I was feeling overwhelmed trying to ensure all my patients received the best care possible. It felt like everything was happening at once, and I was struggling to keep up. Every time I walked past Riley, she had a smile on her face and offered to help. I kept declining because I knew she was just as busy, and I didn't want to add to her workload. Little did I know, Riley had already stepped in to support me. She helped pass medications to several of my patients, answered a few of my call bells, and did it all with her trademark positivity and kindness. Each time I rounded on a patient after she had been in the room, they had nothing but compliments about the cute nurse who helped them. Riley went above and beyond. She kept my patients informed about where I was, explained their medications, and made sure to ask if there was anything else she could do for them. These might seem like small gestures, but on a busy day, they made all the difference. Knowing that a coworker like Riley is there to step in with no hesitation, even while managing her own workload, is invaluable.
