Beyond her clinical expertise, Jody is known as a go-to mentor and preceptor at Encompass Health, where she provides invaluable guidance to new nurses.
They are lucky to have you. You are very nice to me and always smiling. Always compassionate and made me feel safe. I will carry your impact on my recovery forever. We love Jody.

The personalities of these employees exemplify what a "true nurse" is: loving, caring, hard working, considerate of all patients, witty positive attitude in all circumstances, and above all else, they actually love helping all the patients at Encompass.
P.S. Heart-felt thank you to all for your help and kindness.

Jody has been a dedicated nurse at this hospital since 2009 (when it was still HealthSouth). During that time, she made an incredible impact on both her patients and colleagues. With her extensive experience, she is a highly respected Certified Rehab Registered Nurse and has also spent time bringing her considerable knowledge to bear as a nursing instructor at Waynesburg College. Beyond her clinical expertise, Jody is known as a go-to mentor and preceptor at Encompass Health, where she provides invaluable guidance to new nurses. Her leadership and commitment to the nursing profession have made her a vital part of the team, and she continues to both guide and inspire those around her.
Jody's meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication to patient care mirror the very qualities that led to the creation of the DAISY Award, which honors exceptional nurses for their clinical expertise, compassion, and commitment to the highest standards of care. Like Patrick Barnes, whose nurses inspired the DAISY Award, the patients in her care are fortunate to have Jody as a nurse. Her thoughtful and compassionate approach ensures that every patient receives the highest level of care, going beyond the expected to make a lasting impact on their lives, as evidenced by the testimonials enclosed in this year's nominations.
I have no doubt that there are patients who have walked out of our hospital and had a second lease on life because of Jody, just as I am certain that there are nurses who have benefited from her mentorship in ways that extend beyond bedside care.
Congratulations, and thank you, Jody, for all that you do.
