Danielle is consistently demonstrating dedication to our patients in cancer care. She is always enthusiastic about meeting the challenges of our department. She is one of the few nurses who can work all three roles in our department (treatment nurse, clinic nurse, triage nurse). Every time I work with her, I find myself saying, "I want to be the kind of nurse that she is." Specifically, the most recent event that stood out to me was when we had an infusion reaction in the treatment room. Danielle and I were both working triage together that day. We both went into the treatment room when we heard the overhead page to see where we could help. Danielle took the family member aside, who was visibly upset and confused. She walked into the hallway with him and stood there with him, giving him comfort while his wife was being cared for by the rapid response team. She walked him into our social worker's office so he could receive the emotional support he needed. She is always so compassionate, not only with our patients but their family members as well.
