This patient was in crisis, and their needs were not being met in the emergency department. Matt’s response was nothing short of exceptional. He immediately made himself accessible and was both supportive and collaborative throughout the situation. He went above and beyond to ensure that I had the resources and backing necessary to accommodate this patient’s unique needs. Together, we were able to de-escalate a very tense situation, and Matt played an integral role in providing the compassionate, patient-centered care that this acutely sick individual required. His calm demeanor and problem-solving abilities allowed us to overcome the barriers and focus on the patient’s care. His leadership and support during this challenging moment not only made a significant impact on the patient’s well-being but also empowered me to provide exceptional care in a difficult situation.
