I will never forget the amount of compassion and love shown to us in this vulnerable time, and I am so thankful to have had Lacey by our side.
I had Lacey as my nurse in preparation for surgery following the loss of our pregnancy. This is obviously an emotionally and physically vulnerable moment, and I was nervous about what the surgical process would look like as we navigated a medical procedure in the midst of profound grief. Lacey was our answered prayer.
From the moment she entered the room, she exuded a warmth and compassion that was hard to explain. She held my hand, hugged me, and cried with me. She allowed time and space during a busy morning in the OR for us to feel seen and heard. She navigated us through our options for burial and answered all our questions without rushing. As a fellow Mission Partner, we often hear about serving our patients with the greatest care and love. Lacey absolutely embodied this in every way. I'm now a month out from my surgery, and I still think about our interactions with Lacey often. I will never forget the amount of compassion and love shown to us in this vulnerable time, and I am so thankful to have had Lacey by our side.
