I brought my daughter in to be seen for a fever and sore throat. She is not a fan of throat swabs. Summer came in with a smile, explained what was going to happen, asked what concerns my daughter had, and reassured her. She then did a practice run and coached my daughter through what to do to make it the least uncomfortable. She then performed the swab quickly and flawlessly. My daughter was so relieved. She also reiterated what she did and what my daughter did to make it easier. Now she knows for the future. Later, my daughter, who wants to go into healthcare, said, “That is the kind of provider I want to be.” Summer’s confidence, compassion, and intuition were just what was needed. Thank you, Summer!
