I had a wound on my foot that wouldn’t heal. I went into this very frightened. But twice a week, I saw this beautiful face with a smile on it. She kept me informed every step of the way. She taught me how to care for my wound so I wouldn’t have to make the long trip so much. She was always kind, caring, and gentle with me and my wound. She truly is what a nurse should be. She explained what could happen at each step of the way.

M, the doctor, was always there to help me as well. They worked together as a team. But it was that beautiful smile that kept me going. I did end up having surgery and had a wonderful outcome. It’s nurses like Ashley who have us take a long drive to get excellent care. As soon as I saw this award I wanted to nominate her. She went over and above every time I saw her.
