Rather than wait perhaps hours for an aide to take me to x-rays, she wheeled me there herself to help me get discharged earlier.
Sarah’s kindness, competence, and knowledge of how the system works were key to helping me manage a very stressful time. After almost a year of tests, visits to specialists, abnormal findings in my heart, scary unexplained fainting, and abnormal genetic results, I was finally scheduled for a defibrillator installation in my heart. From the moment I arrived, Sarah’s tone was clear, direct, and supportive without being saccharine or fake. She answered all of my questions before and after surgery with grace, patience, and intelligence. Rather than wait perhaps hours for an aide to take me to x-rays, she wheeled me there herself to help me get discharged earlier. She is a wonderful and smart nurse who made this scary experience much more manageable. I wish I could thank her directly for all the small and big ways she helped.

My father came in for a Watchman procedure. Sarah welcomed him and oriented him to the unit, explaining the procedure and providing exceptional care throughout his stay during her shift. He did have some complications with oozing /bleeding at his insertion site, and Sarah was immediately "on it" and notified the appropriate providers so that this could be addressed and corrected quickly. She was constantly at his bedside, checking his site and seeing if he needed anything - really to see if either of us needed anything. She also explained all the procedures and what would be expected of her. She had a wonderful sense of humor that put us both at ease and really helped to lessen the stress of the situation. Sarah has a very pleasant, calming personality, which went a long way in easing a stressful situation. The compassion and competence Sarah displayed should be acknowledged. The entire provider team was exceptional, but Sarah really stood out for the amount of time she spent bedside, tending to my father's needs, communicating with providers, and addressing his concerns. Thank you.
