While getting my epidural, she held my hand and was genuinely concerned with my level of comfort at all times.
I was induced at 39 weeks for my first baby and was quite frankly scared to death. When I was checked into the Women’s Center, my nurse promptly came in to introduce herself, and I immediately felt more at ease due to her calming presence. First and foremost, she made it a priority to educate me on and explain each step in the induction process to help me make decisions and advocate for myself. As we went over my birth plan, she was open and honest and gave me feedback on the topics I was unsure about. She never gave me a biased answer or tried to sway me to make any sort of decision I was not comfortable making, and ensured that I had the appropriate information before making any decisions. While getting my epidural, she held my hand and was genuinely concerned with my level of comfort at all times. When my blood pressure tanked after the epidural, she remained calm and made the right decisions to ensure my BP came back up promptly. Jewell was my nurse for 2 shifts and allowed me to trust her professionalism during one of the most important times of my adult life thus far. I am so thankful for her & I hope that this testimony is only a portion of the absolute rockstar nurse that she is.
