Her empathy, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her patients were nothing short of extraordinary. I saw how she treated everyone around her with respect, dignity, and genuine concern.
I'm writing to wholeheartedly nominate Roxanne for the DAISY Award, as I cannot imagine anyone more deserving of this honor. Roxanne is not just a nurse she's a beacon of compassion, selflessness, and dedication, and my life has been profoundly touched by her care.

When I was admitted to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital I was overwhelmed with fear and absurdity about my condition I felt utterly vulnerable. Then Roxanne walked into my room. From the moment she introduced herself, I felt a sense of calm and reassurance that I hadn't experienced in a long time. Roxanne went above and beyond in ways I could never have expected. She took the time to explain every procedure in detail, ensuring I understood what was happening and felt in control of the situation. She anticipated my needs before I can voice, bringing me and pillow, water, etc. and even sitting with me during moments when I felt particularly anxious her kindness was a lifeline.

What struck me the most was how selflessly Roxanne gave her time and energy, even when she was clearly caring for multiple patients. There were moments during my stay when I could see how busy the unit was, yet Roxanne never made me feel like a burden. She treated me with the same care and attention as if I were her only patient. One evening, I was struggling emotionally, I felt so isolated and far from my friends. Roxanne knew immediately, and instead she simply stayed with me a little while to listen patiently as I shared my fears and tears. Her empathy, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her patients were nothing short of extraordinary. I saw how she treated everyone around her with respect, dignity, and genuine concern.

It is clear that Roxanne views nursing as more than just a job; it was her calling, and she fulfilled it with remarkable Grace and integrity. Roxanne's care left a lasting impact on me, not just physically but emotionally as well. Her presence made an incredibly difficult time in my life variable, and I will forever be grateful for the compassion and kindness she showed me. It is Nurses like Roxanne who remind us of the profound difference one person can make. Her selflessness and hard work deserve to be recognized and celebrated. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
