Brittanie just had a way about her, connecting, talking, sharing, and providing care. She was excellent at her job, but more importantly, she was excellent at showing love and attention.
My mother recently had a three-week hospital stay and sadly passed away. During her stay at NEGMC, we moved seven times. Different floors, different rooms, for various reasons. We had the opportunity to be on the fourth floor with Brittanie as mother’s nurse. She could not have been sweeter or better to my mother.

Almost instantly, Brittanie connected with my mother. As I write you, it’s really hard to put it into words. Brittanie just had a way about her, connecting, talking, sharing, and providing care. She was excellent at her job, but more importantly, she was excellent at showing love and attention. Mother loved Brittanie being her nurse and when we received word we would be moving yet again to the fifth floor, mother asked if Brittanie could follow us there. I think Brittanie really wanted to go. Brittanie exemplified the definition of generous. That definition is someone liberal in giving or sharing; unselfish. Brittanie was generous in her care, generous in kindness, generous in her skill, generous in her attention, generous in her laughter. Brittanie gave her full attention to Mother’s needs, but never forgot us, me and four siblings, who took turns being with Mother during her stay at the hospital. We were important to Brittanie, too. That meant so much to us.

Brittanie’s care and concern went a step further, something I never expected. I guess she checked on Mother later and learned she had passed away while at the hospital. That sweet Brittanie sent me flowers! On the card, Brittanie shared her condolences and wanted to make sure we knew how much our mother had touched her and what a pleasure and honor it was to take care of her. How extraordinary!

Her act of care, beyond her job, is one I will never forget. Northeast Georgia Medical Center is very fortunate to have Brittanie. A true gem. Brittanie is an asset to your team. She’s actually an asset to this world – giving, sharing, and caring. She truly is a wonderful person. The time in the hospital was hard. We were not ready to lose our mother. Please share the above with Brittanie. I want her to know how much she meant to us and how special the beautiful flowers are.
