Kate has been with us every step of the way. I first met her when I was coming out of my wife's C-Section, which had me so freaked out I was trembling. My wife has pre-existing conditions that made both the pregnancy and the operation high risk, and I was terrified that I was going to lose her. Nurse Kate got me some water and helped calm me down before my wife was wheeled in, allowing me to be strong for her. 

She also helped us nearly every night of our prolonged stay. I say nearly only because she did not work last night. This is our first baby, and despite my reading books and watching countless hours of YouTube, I was still uncertain about my ability to do this. Nurse Kate has been a constant source of comfort, care, and confidence throughout this scary and exciting time. It feels like a ten-minute conversation with her taught me more than all that prep work combined.     

Nurse Kate taught me how to swaddle our baby in a new method that is so much more effective than any previous technique I had learned. Our baby loves it, and it also stops him from wiggling out; something he is keen to do. She taught us about and how to use the Supplemental Nutritional System, which has been a godsend for feeding our baby. She taught us so many tricks that I now feel confident enough to feel comfortable about taking our newborn son home. She didn't just show us the techniques; she felt like a cheerleader in our corner that set us up to succeed on our own.

Your entire team has been fantastic every step of the way, which makes Nurse Kate's performance even more exceptional. She is truly a superhero, and my wife and I feel incredibly fortunate to have met someone as capable, patient, and willing to help assuage our insecurities. We'll never forget her, and I wanted to make sure to nominate her for the DAISY Award.
