Jami graduated with her nursing degree from Florida state college of Jacksonville, FL. She started her journey as a nurse at Arnold palmer Hospital as an OB surgical tech before starting with Baptist in 1998 at our downtown Jacksonville Campus in Labor and Delivery. Jami then transferred in 1999 to Nassau and is now working in our main OR. Jami has been a preceptor for over 20 years to surgical techs, first assistants and registered nurses. Jami is an outstanding team member. Her nominations truly speaks to her empathy and compassion she leads with each day. Her knowledge in the operating room, specifically Nassau, Is unmatched. We are truly blessed to have her on our team! In the language of daisies, the bouquet says “I am truly grateful”

Two weeks ago, my RN Margaret noticed she did not have her bracelet on that her granddaughter had given her. Margaret's granddaughter had recently passed. She immediately thought she threw it away in some gloves. She was very upset, and our nurse Jami rushed down to see if the trash was still here. It was not and had been taken already down to the compactor.
When she went down to plant facilities the compactor had already been ran as well. Our plant director wasted no time helping Jami unplug the compactor and start looking for the bracelet. He called another plant facility employee and had him come down. It's from my understanding they crawled through the compactor and was able to get bags of trash out for Jami to go through. They both sifted through the trash for some time looking for this bracelet.
Later when Margaret’s husband got home it was found to be on their dresser at home the whole time. I just want to recognize how they went above and beyond to try to recover such a precious piece of jewelry for one of our team members. I don't know too many people that would dig through compacted trash to try to find an item for a coworker.

I just need to brag on Jami Rowland; she will always be considered my Guardian Angel. Jami went above and beyond her duties as a Nurse. We are definitely lucky to have her here at Baptist Nassau. I went through a traumatic life altering experience in the Nassau Main OR on January the 10th 2025. All I remember when I woke up, Jami was standing over me and rubbing my face and telling me everything is going to be okay and that she would be there every step of the way to make sure I would be okay.
Jami provided such great emotional support as well as going the extra mile to ensure I was comfortable and that I knew that my boys were okay and their wellbeing was being looked after. I want to take this opportunity to say I am thankful for Jami’s exceptional care and the positive impact she makes every day. Jami you are an exceptional nurse; your genuine concern and exceptional care has made a lasting impact on me. Thank you for being an outstanding nurse, your compassion, optimism and kindness did not go unnoticed. I will always consider Baptist Nassau home.
