Divina was such a sweet, kind and caring nurse. From the moment she introduced herself, at my discharge, she made me feel seen and heard. There were three different IV ports on me at one time and one had come out. I waited for quite a while for the other nurse to come back like she said she would, but she never returned. Divina said she was now my nurse. She listened to my concerns and took the IV that was starting to come out all the way and bandaged me up. She even told me a little bit about her background and offered to brush my hair before my discharge. I don’t think she realized how such a small gesture caused me to cry happy tears the rest of the day. My stay was a tad longer than expected due to my getting a blood transfusion, etc. I was becoming homesick over the holiday season and wanted to go home. I love my hair being brushed by others; it is so relaxing and soothing. She put it up in a cute bun, and my next-door neighbor (roommate) took a picture of us that I cherish to this day. My roommate has the same birthday as mine. Divina said her other job, or her other dream job was to be a hairdresser. So, I allowed her the blessing of doing my hair up, and she blessed me with being such a kind soul over my holiday hospital stay.
