Anthony is the definition of a nurse going above and beyond for his patients and his coworkers. The care needed for our patient demographic is multi-faceted, and Anthony is supportive of his patients on every level. Almost every patient that comes through our doors and has had the opportunity to have Anthony as their nurse, and look for him, request him, and talk so positively of him. He makes a lasting impression on them and makes them feel safe during such a scary time.

Most of all, he makes them laugh. You can't talk about him without a smile coming to your face. Anthony makes sure that our staff is aware of patients who have passed, and shares their obituaries so they can be celebrated and remembered. He sends sympathy cards to the families as well.

A patient's family came to visit after their family member passed, just to see Anthony and bring him something that the patient wanted Anthony to have. His commitment to being fully engaged with his patients is unmatched and does not go unnoticed, not only by his coworkers and superiors, but most importantly, the people who trust us to take care of them.

Anthony, who is a busy father of 3 very involved and successful children, makes time to frequently cook meals for the staff and keeps extra in the freezer for us as well. He even shares his eggs from his chicken with us! He encourages us to give each other recognition, which is so important in boosting team morale.

Anthony is a skilled IV starter and is always willing to stop what he is doing to help another nurse or patient get IV access, and this happens multiple times a day. Patients come here requesting him every day! He is exemplary at what he does, and it is felt and very much appreciated by our unit and our patients. I admire Anthony for his passion for what he does and feel he is the perfect candidate for this nomination!
