Renee greeted with cheer every time she entered the room. She took the time to patiently listen to all our concerns.
My husband, A, went to the ED in January for stomach pain and diagnosed with an intestinal blockage. After having his urgent surgery, his health took a nosedive with multiple health issues. He had a heart attack, and his care team placed him on a ventilator. After coming off the ventilator, A said he could not see. Tests showed that he had a juncture stroke which caused his blindness. After all of this, he started bleeding internally. The amount of blood was alarming.
I have to say that my family and I (his wife) were able to breathe a sign of relief when our nurse, Renee Lawler stepped into the room. She walked in the room with a beautiful smile and positive assurance that everything would be “okay.” She greeted with cheer every time she entered the room. She took the time to patiently listen to all our concerns. A’s had an extended stay in the ICU. The family said that they have never, ever experienced a nurse that provided the ultimate professional and personal care. As he began to recover and his eyesight was returning, Renee helped by making a hallway obstacle course. She strategically “and safely” placed items in his path for him to avoid. He proudly proved to Renee that he could see the obstacles to avoid. Renee cheered him on. Renee is professionally priceless and unforgettable.
