Melanie took time on my first day after surgery to come in and go over all the concerns and needs me and my family had. She gave us all the med options and hours between each and explained what each one did. She then listened to the pain I was having, what was and was not working, and worked with my doctors to come up with a better plan for my pain. I was in excruciating pain after surgery, and it just wasn't working. After talking through everything with me and my family, she immediately went and communicated the situation to my Doctor's team and got me on a better pain management plan. She showed my wife my wound, how to care for it at home, and how to do simple things to help me once we got home. She always responded right away when I called for her, and even if she couldn't immediately get to me due to helping another patient, she would poke her head in to say she saw I needed her, ask what I needed, and tell me she would be right back or find another staff to help out. She never seemed in a hurry or bothered when helping me or even answering my family's many questions and concerns.
