We have a very busy safety net hospital on the far south side of Chicago. Christ, a seasoned ER nurse and charge nurse, was working this particular night. He was not only the charge that night, but he had his own team of patients because we were short that night. Christ showed extraordinary compassionate care, especially to a patient who came running through our ER door screaming I'm dying, please don't let me die. Christ spung into action with his calm demeanor but quick thinking he save all of us that night. It was very chaotic that night but his dedication and breath taking ability to multitask, problem solve and critical thinking he was able to face the overwhelming circumstances. In that moment, Christ, with the guidance from the doctors, was able to stabilize the patient as he began to show signs of recovery. Christ showed more than just how to get through a shift, but it was a testament to how much unwavering dedication he has for his patients and his team members. That night he was a bececon of hope resilience, inspiring to his collegues while demostrating the true meaning of nursing excellence. Christ's story was a reminder of the profound impact nurses can have on people's lives even in the face of overwhelming challenges. Christ, you are amazing, and you deserve this remarkable award, and I just want to say from all of us, Thank You.
