He has directly worked with the nursing staff across AFM to build a patient teaching program that gives a targeted, individualized approach, while simultaneously allowing the nurse to share a consistent educational plan with each patient.
Britton has taken on the challenge of revamping AFM's Diabetic patient teaching and handling.  In his own way, he quietly notices a need and begins to bring others together to make the necessary changes to enhance our patients' health.  He has spent countless hours reviewing data, the former Diabetes patient care process, and speaking with various modalities. He has directly worked with the nursing staff across AFM to build a patient teaching program that gives a targeted, individualized approach, while simultaneously allowing the nurse to share a consistent educational plan with each patient.  Enhancements have been made to patient teaching materials as well as a fully structured approach to teaching and tracking patients, which has created a building block approach to following up on our patients' health. I am incredibly proud and honored to work alongside a human who is patient-centered, efficient, and meaningful in his delivery.  The lives that will be impacted with his new approach will be positively changed, and it is another way patients can be shown how devoted Kaiser Permanente and the individuals that work here are to the total health of each patient.

This nurse leader inspires and mentors staff with remarkable dedication. Britton's influence in the South Sacramento Service (SSC) area has been profound across various departments, but one particular effort stands out. Over the past year, SSC's satellite facilities experienced two resuscitation events, both resulting in patient fatalities. During the incident at Elk Grove Big Horn, Britton demonstrated exceptional leadership by guiding the team through the code. Following the event, Britton ensured that all affected individuals from diverse service lines (Care Plus, AFM, Pediatrics, OBGYN, Pharmacy) had the opportunity to participate in a debriefing session, which was crucial immediately after the event. Britton then took it upon himself to prepare the teams for future occurrences. He worked tirelessly to overhaul the entire workflow for team alerts and code blue procedures in the satellite facilities, addressing the deficiencies observed in previous resuscitation events. Britton established a process for mock codes, now conducted quarterly, encompassing both adult and pediatric scenarios. He ensures these mock codes are held at both the Big Horn and Promenade facilities. Britton takes pride in training the staff, providing them with the support and leadership necessary to handle these sporadic, high-stakes events. As a result of Britton's attentiveness, SSC's satellite facilities are now safer environments for patient care, thanks to the staff's enhanced preparedness for high-risk events.
