I would like to nominate Jessica Yarbrough for the DAISY Award for her outstanding care and compassion during my recent foot surgery. I had never undergone surgery before, and to say I was nervous would be an understatement. As someone who is typically independent and likes to be in control of situations, the thought of being in such a vulnerable position was overwhelming. From the moment Jessica entered my care, she made me feel at ease. She was not only extremely knowledgeable but also incredibly patient. I had many questions, and despite asking the same ones repeatedly (52 different ways!), Jessica took the time to answer them all with calmness and understanding, never once showing frustration. She reassured me throughout the entire process that she would be with me every step of the way, which brought me immense comfort. When the time came for me to go to sleep for the surgery, Jessica held my hand as the CRNA administered the anesthesia. It was such a simple gesture, but it meant the world to me. Jessica's genuine compassion and her ability to comfort and support me made my first surgery experience as smooth and painless as possible. Her care went above and beyond, and I am incredibly grateful for her dedication and kindness. She made a nerve-wracking experience far easier to handle, and I truly believe she deserves to be recognized for her exceptional service and the impact she had on my journey.
