When I was first admitted into the hospital, I was already coming off a bad 10-hour stretch in the ER. I was in a vast amount of debilitating pain, and my patient care was less than subpar. Two days into my admission and the day I go in for my back injection, I meet my guardian angel, nurse Sherie.

She walks in just emanating positivity and starts doing tasks to improve my comfort without me even having to suggest anything. She is grabbing extra pillows and tucking me in, keeping iced water accessible beside me, or it’s on the way. Her altruism and pure humanitarian heart really shine with her bedside manner.

Nurse Sherie held my hands, validated my feelings of pain, wiped my tears, and told me a story that made me laugh for the first time in days and broke through my pain. Sherie then gets to work being a ruthless advocate in getting me proper pain management, as well as the next steps in getting me into surgery.

I cried this time, tears of joy. The care she gives is only second to what my mom would give, and even then, a close second place. All the staff here are blessed to have her on their team, as I know she is an angel to so many other patients.
