Her innovative thinking and proactive approach to enhance daily nursing care are truly commendable.
Dr. Beth Langley is an extraordinary nurse leader, mentor, peer, and cheerleader. She proudly wears many hats and is wholly dedicated to ensuring that patients receive excellent care and that nurses feel supported and recognized. Her innovative thinking and proactive approach to enhance daily nursing care are truly commendable. Beth’s nursing journey began at Cape Fear Valley as a new grad in the ED.

As a quick learner, she began to share her amazing talent with the ED team and became a nurse supervisor. She naturally fosters trust, mutual respect, and a sense of safety for staff, patients, and their loved ones. From the ED, she found her way to CSICU and then to nursing administration, where she continues to provide quality patient care and mentors nurses. She consistently sets the standard for what a nurse should be: attentive, compassionate, meticulous, and conscientious.

Dr. Beth’s creativity knows no bounds. She continuously explores new ideas and initiatives to elevate the standards of nursing practice. Her relentless pursuit of excellence and her genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of others make her a true asset to Cape Fear Valley. One of her most admirable qualities is her personalized approach. She doesn’t just improve nursing care, rather, she supports the individual.

Beth inspires everyone around her. She takes the time to connect with nurses and colleagues, making them feel heard, supported, and valued. She also works to make sure nurses pursue furthering their education and plant seeds of wisdom in almost every interaction she has with staff. Her passion continues for learning, and this is evident through the endowed Nursing Education Scholarship. She celebrates health care professionals. From Nurses to Partners in Caring week to the annual Veterans’ celebration, and continues to promote the development of Clinical Nurse Educators, Nursing Congress, the Clinical Ladder program, the DAISY recognition for nurses, and the LITE award for non-nurses. These celebrations are in addition to all her other roles and responsibilities.

Our recipient is one who has been serving Cape Fear Valley in countless ways. She is known for not only exhibiting care and compassion to her patients but also to their families and loved ones. And it is this commitment to care that fueled her desire to pursue higher education in healthcare. Nevertheless, what she does even to this day maintains the goal of providing the best outcomes for the care of patients.

Beth exhibits the values of compassion and service, and it is a privilege to bestow this recognition upon Dr. Beth Langley. If you are lucky enough to work beside her, you will see that she is very smart, hardworking, dependable, and trustworthy while always striving for excellence. We love you, Beth. Your positive impact on our organization and the lives that you touch is immeasurable.
