She is guided by honesty, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right.
Gina is the embodiment of what it means to be a servant leader. She is guided by honesty, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right. She leads by example, weaving teaching moments into daily interactions and consistently modeling professionalism, kindness, and excellence for her team and colleagues. Gina’s approach to care is deeply rooted in compassion. She gives her all to every patient, and the way she listens to patients, families, staff, physicians, and volunteers is a true reflection of her desire to understand and support those around her.
Her enthusiasm and positivity are absolutely contagious. Gina walks into every room with a smile and a “can-do” attitude that uplifts everyone she encounters. She’s not only a tireless advocate for her team and patients—she’s also one of RCH’s most passionate cheerleaders.
One shining example of Gina’s leadership is her work on our Safe Sleep project. Gina took the initiative to address a critical issue—Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome, the leading cause of infant mortality in San Bernardino County. With determination and purpose, she reviewed national recommendations, led a performance improvement initiative, developed new policies, implemented staff training, collaborated with departments across the hospital, and provided vital education to families—all to ensure the safest possible environment for our newborns.
Thanks to Gina’s leadership, RCH is not only improving its care practices—we are setting a new standard in our community. With her recent submission for Safe Sleep designation, we are poised to become the first hospital in San Bernardino County to earn this important recognition. Gina also secured access to free cribs for qualifying families through the Cribs for Kids program, eliminating barriers to safe sleep and extending our care beyond hospital walls.
She even worked with pediatricians to adjust practices that reduce the risk of overheating in newborns—another step toward safer outcomes for our most vulnerable patients. This is the kind of leader Gina is. A visionary. A collaborator. A tireless advocate. A compassionate caregiver. And an inspiration to all of us. RCH is privileged—truly blessed—to have Gina on our leadership team. She reminds us every day of what it means to lead with heart, to serve with purpose, and to always put patients first.
