D’Ann has been at EIRMC for 25 years and still demonstrates the same passion for her job as she did on her first day. We had a patient who came into the ER for a sudden cardiac arrest. Despite the best efforts of the code team, we were unable to resuscitate him. The family was utterly distraught. They asked if we could keep the patient until they could come to terms and make a decision regarding a funeral home.
 
The next day, the family called D’Ann and requested a funeral home that was unknown in the area. D'Ann called the funeral home who told her they were waiting on the family to complete some forms before they could come pick up the patient. The family showed up at the front desk, desperate for help to complete the paperwork. Instead of rushing through the paperwork or sending them on their way, D'Ann took the time to look through the paperwork with them. She made some phone calls to help them decide on a funeral home. 

In doing so it was found that the funeral home that the family had founded listed online is not licensed in the state of Idaho and the Idaho State Attorney General was aware that this company was fraudulent. D'Ann was able to help this grieving family find some peace for their loved one and prevent them from becoming victims of a scam while in their greatest time of need. 

The thing I love most about D'Ann is her genuine compassion. She truly cares about people, whether they are patients, families, or staff. She will always take the time to do what is right and support anyone in need. I am grateful and proud that I get to work with D'Ann Coffman.
