I hope my child is like her.
An incredible person. Our story: My wife and I had our first child delivered in L&D at Tisch this past Tuesday, 11/5/24. My wife had a slightly longer labor, and it carried over from the night to the morning shift change that day. From the moment Diana arrived in the room that morning, she led the charge of all staff outside our delivering OB. She simultaneously fielded all our questions, made my wife comfortable, knew exactly what was going on with her body, listened so intently, and supported us, got coverage for 2 hours while she went to attend a continuing education class.
She had a student nurse in the room she was training and teaching the entire time, devices, procedures, stages of labor, etc., spoke and worked with our on-site doula also in the room, administered all IVs and tests, etc., and brought the OB up to speed every time she visited. I was floored, I mean astounded, by how good Diana was at her job.
Finally, at the moment, Diana was the one who instructed my wife how to push, and then she and I shared the intimate moment of each holding one of my wife's legs as my son came into this world. To me, it was life-changing; to Diana, it was another day at work. She helped clean up my wife, clamp the cord, and move on with her day, smiling. Here is an incredible, intelligent, difference-making woman, and there is zero doubt in my mind that Diana will ever waver in her role and quality of care. She is an inspiration. I hope my child is like her.
