He was so calm and really made me feel safe and taken care of during an otherwise mind-spinning event.
I was on Rush main campus for a routine medical appointment. I took a serious fall in the main parking garage while looking for my car and face-planted without warning. Stunned but ambulatory, I made my way to the main stairwell from level C6. I encountered at least three people who just looked at me and did nothing when I said, "I fell. I need help." In hindsight, I can understand their wariness. I had road rash on my face, I was bleeding, and I probably looked a little dazed. I don't know if Andrew was coming or going from a shift, but not only did he stop to help, he assessed my face, pulled an Ace bandage out of his backpack like MacGyver to manage the bleeding, and walked me to the ER.

Andrew let me know he currently works in IR, and he previously worked on 13E. He was so calm and really made me feel safe and taken care of during an otherwise mind-spinning event. From that fall, I fractured both nasal bones and needed 4 stitches. I much prefer being the nurse; however, if you have to be a patient, you want Andrew on your team. Andrew, I owe you an Ace bandage! And so much more. I've only ever worked at Rush for one reason: I work with the very best nurses, who are the very best human beings on and off shift.
