That patient’s care was changed based on her assessment.
Kim has consistently demonstrated a commitment to providing excellent care while receiving feedback in her clinical experiences. During multiple clinical days, she has noticed things that were not normal in her patients. For example, she noted that the DTRs on a patient were not within normal limits, completed a further assessment, and notified her preceptor and the provider. That patient’s care was changed based on her assessment. Additionally, she is very conscious of providing appropriate education so her patients know what is going on. For example, she was going to administer a medication and inquired of the patient if they had taken the medication prior. The patient replied that they did not know. (The patient got the medication the day prior.) So, she provided education as well as the option for the patient to refuse the treatment. The patient agreed to the medication and was grateful to Kimberly for providing her with the education related to the medication. Additionally, her care for patients has been noted by patients to be outstanding, as evidenced by the “Accolades from a Patient” nomination at UCHealth.
