She is a perfect example of exactly what a nurse should be, knowledgeable, observant, thorough, punctual, caring, compassionate, respectful, helpful, kind, and her objective is to make sure her patients are cared for in every way.
Today is day 22 of this hospitalization, and it has been such an emotional roller coaster, and my dad has been in very critical condition. We have had many good nurses in the 22 days we have been in the hospital, but today Emily really made a wonderful impression on this very tired, very mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted daughter! She was an amazing nurse from the very start of her shift, well, actually before her shift even started. She went above and beyond in every way to take exceptionally good care of my daddy. She was very thorough and had taken the time to review his healthcare plan and what had transpired with him over the course of this health crisis we have been facing. She was extremely prompt with every single thing she did or that I asked her about or that she was supposed to do. She was not late even by one single minute on his medications or anything at all. She cared for him very well, and it showed through everything she did the entire 12-hour shift that being a nurse was not just "a job” or in it "for the money”, but because she truly cared about people and their well-being. She is a perfect example of exactly what a nurse should be, knowledgeable, observant, thorough, punctual, caring, compassionate, respectful, helpful, kind, and her objective is to make sure her patients are cared for in every way to the best of her ability and to be as comfortable and supported 100% and not only for her patients but for their care partners as well. She is an amazing nurse, and I am so grateful for her hard work and dedication to her job and the true meaning and purpose of her job, and to my daddy and ensuring she done everything in her ability to deliver him the very best care, and she did, in every single way possible. Emily deserves recognition for the amazing, caring, wonderful nurse that she is. Every nurse should strive to be the type of nurse who comes to Emily so freely and passes to her patients and their families just as freely. Emily made this unexpected, long, terribly horrifying, physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting, dark, sorrowful, worrisome hospitalization with my daddy a little bit easier today, a little brighter today, and a lot more comforting and confident in his care and best interest being first and foremost! We have many long days ahead to face, and I can only hope we are blessed with Emily as the nurse! We have had many great nurses the past 22 days, and previous stays before this one, but today Emily SHINED VERY BRIGHTLY just like the STAR nurse she is! She deserves to be recognized for the amazing care she gives to everyone!
