My dad was discharging and she took time to lead us in prayer for my dad to make a full recovery and made us feel confident to bring him home.

Anabel is highly organized and takes initiative by making sure she communicates/works together with her nurse tech to have all their patients dressed with meds given before treatment. In addition, she's humble and gives credit to her tech by saying, "I'm only as strong as my tech." She's kind and values teamwork! Anabel deserves to be recognized.

Anabel is hard-working and always willing to help the other nurses and techs. She has taken students without complaint. When Anabel is working, you will hear her tech say, "Today is going to be a good day because my nurse is Anabel." She has great bedside manner and is caring and gentle with the patients and family members. You can rely on her to get her work completed to a high standard and within time. This also goes with any education that needs completing. If I were a patient, I would love Anabel to be my nurse!

It is with great pleasure that I nominate Anabel Quintana as the DAISY Award recipient for being such an awesome nurse at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Augusta. The things that first caught my attention with Anabel were the extreme sensitivity and compassion that she exhibits when dealing with patients. She also carries that same sensitivity and compassion over to family members and ensures that they are included and informed. It is a beautiful thing to observe! Anabel never hesitates to ask questions if unsure and always keeps me, as a specialist, informed, so if there are changes in a patient, we can work together to make better decisions for the patient. When I think about our core values, Anabel excels in all of them. She sets the standard for herself at a very high level and consistently meets or exceeds that bar. Her empathy with patients and families is again a beautiful thing to watch. There is no exception to doing what's right in her mind, and it is evident in her daily practice. Her attitude is always positive and I cannot say I have ever witnessed her have a bad day. Every time I interact with Anabel, the last thing she always says to me is, "Can I help you with something?" and she means it. She definitely embodies the stronger together attitude. There are many nurses here that can/should be considered for this award, but when I ask myself why I recommend Anabel above others, it is very simple - she makes me proud! As a nurse, she represents our profession well, and she can take care of me any day!
