They only did what was best for her, hugged us when we cried, and went above and beyond their job title.
My grandmother suffered from a severe COPD exacerbation and was transferred to Encompass. The day of transfer, she was diagnosed with COVID, which we were told was going to take her life soon. This was extremely unexpected and devastating as she was the light of our lives. The doctor and both nurses, Joslyn and Dan, made sure they did absolutely everything they could to save her life. Not once did we have to ring the bell; they took the time to know her needs before we even asked. Both nurses stayed later on numerous occasions to make sure she was comfortable and taken care of, and to ensure my mother and I felt safe. They gave meds for the next shift, so we knew she was safe, to ease our minds, and told us they did not want her to have to wait. They were constantly checking in on us as well, knowing what a huge impact my grandmother had on us. There was a bed set up for us that Joslyn put in to be sure we could stay with her and be as comfortable as possible. They saved her life, and I truly believe if it weren't for these nurses, she wouldn't have been able to come home. They did everything they could to make sure we were taking care of ourselves, knowing we spent sleepless nights and every minute next to her. They only did what was best for her, hugged us when we cried, and went above and beyond their job title. She ended up passing about a week after being sent home, in her house surrounded by family, exactly how she wanted. These nurses showed patient advocacy and the most genuine compassion and kindness, knowing how badly we needed help.
