I would like to nominate Kortney Stinson, Nurse Practitioner-Hospital Medicine. Her work is consistently outstanding—always intelligent, well-documented, and delivered with kindness. I am regularly impressed by her clinical expertise and dedication, but today, she took it to an entirely new level. During a code blue, I arrived to find her already leading the response. I have never witnessed such expertly efficient management of a cardiac arrest. She was clearly in charge, unflappably calm, and anticipating every next step with remarkable fluidity. Her leadership was so effective that, despite the presence of three physicians. We all worked seamlessly under her direction without hesitation. That alone speaks volumes about the exceptional job she was doing. While the outcome was not what we had hoped for, her performance in that moment was nothing short of extraordinary. Perhaps her background as a bedside nurse and her experience in cardiology have honed her skills, but her ability to synthesize every aspect of a critical situation with such composure and precision was truly remarkable. Baptist and our Hospital Medicine team are incredibly fortunate to have her.
