LeAnne has the experience and knowledge to be the trusted resource for staff and colleagues.  It is that experience and drive for evidence-based practices that make us trust her so much.
LeAnne is one of the most welcoming, engaged members of the RRH Family.  She always greets staff and patients with a smile and offers herself.  There is not one instance to report because she just always presents this way.  I can honestly tell you this because I have seen it happen over decades.

LeAnne is all in.  I can only describe it this way because that's what happens.  LeAnne is all in for her staff that she is educating, the staff she is supporting, the team members she is collaborating with, the project she is developing, the curriculum she is creating, the calendar she is filling, the family she is loving, and the table she is decorating.  LeAnne invests all of herself physically, emotionally, and cognitively.  She wants the best for us and everyone around her.  LeAnne isn't capable of doing something half-way.  LeAnne shows up and shows out every day.

LeAnne has the experience and knowledge to be the trusted resource for staff and colleagues.  It is that experience and drive for evidence-based practices that make us trust her so much.  If LeAnne doesn't know the answer to a question, she will find the correct answer.  And then, of course, I'll tell you all about it.

What I would really like to share is that the wonderful LeAnne has come full circle in life with me, and I want to recognize her for it.  You see, LeAnne was my very first nurse educator in the emergency room back in 2003 at the ripe age of 22.  That was my first job at the "big hospital" in the "big city."  LeAnne oriented me to the emergency room, taught my first telemetry class, pushed me to pass ACLS the second time, got my ENPC and TNCC courses arranged, and moved me through triage training. LeAnne demonstrated and practiced nursing just the way I wanted to practice nursing.  One day-shift in the emergency room, old Park Ridge to be exact, I was assigned a student nurse to work with.  We went room to room assessing and caring for patients, and while in room 14 (all curtains, no walls), I was listening to lung sounds and teaching the student how to do so, giving some basic instructions.  Well, apparently, LeAnne was listening........because later that shift, LeAnne came up to me to say she overheard me talking to the student during the assessment.  To my surprise, LeAnne said, "You did such a great job teaching that student.  You should think about being an educator someday."  I chuckled, took the compliment, and then proceeded on with my shift.  Seemingly insignificant to many, those words have never been forgotten.  LeAnne saw something in me that I did not see in myself.  Her words have stuck with me since, and I do reminisce about this moment.  It is not often that someone offers words of encouragement or a compliment that can change another's outlook.  LeAnne was the person who did that for me - ignited an idea for me, gave me a confident thought, and ultimately nudged me in the right direction.

Thank you, LeAnne, keep being you, keep igniting people, and keep being an educator I want to be like.
