Kayla was assigned as my nurse during labor. She was invaluable throughout the labor process- especially since I was a first-time mom. The thing that stood out to me the most was her dedication to her patients and the love she has for her job. Kayla was scheduled to be off work at 11 pm that night. I was in the middle of pushing at this time, which was taking a lot longer than expected. Instead of leaving at the end of her shift, Kayla stayed and assisted with my birth. She remained remarkably calm throughout everything and became more like a birth coach to me than a nurse. I 100% could not have made it through that night without her. She even stayed after and helped me shower and move to another room before finally leaving at 2:00 a.m. I am forever grateful for her kindness to a mere stranger. I will never forget her!
