Sarah has always been loving, caring, compassionate, and going above and beyond with all of her patient care. She is always uplifting co-workers as well, with shoutouts, WOW cards, words of encouragement, and her overall optimistic perspective. Sarah is one of the people who took the initiative to run our UBC meetings every month, and when it comes to co-worker bonding activities, Sarah has offered her assistance many times so that we as a unit could have the opportunity to bond with each other outside of work.

Sarah had the opportunity of learning Spanish as her second language and uses it to communicate with our patients who are only Spanish-speaking or might not know the English language well enough to properly communicate and understand. Sarah always gives so much love and compassion to these patients, and I can see how comfortable and trusting these patients are towards Sarah because of her ability to communicate and take care of them in this way.

Specifically, we had a patient who was only Spanish-speaking, and upon introducing myself to the patient, Sarah was able to assist me in making the patient feel comfortable with the staff change, and it was a smooth transition into the night shift for me. Sarah has been a role model for me since I arrived at the unit this past summer, and I really appreciate everything she has done for us and our patients!
