I met Kathryn only 10 weeks ago when I transitioned to a new role in the FGP practice and she immediately made a great impression on me. Kathryn is the type of nurse that you would want to take care of you and your family members. Not only is she compassionate about what she does, but she also advocates for her patients and families. She currently works in a busy pediatric pulmonary office setting. She is currently working on providing education and support to her patients in the form of a support/education group for asthma patients and families. This will be a first for this practice and is very much needed for the asthma population. She has been investigating, researching, and setting up education for the workshop, and I am excited to see the impact that this will have on the community. She is able to manage her time exceptionally, and her efforts for the families are commendable. I, without reservation, nominate Kathryn for the DAISY Award. She truly has her patients ' best interests in mind and enjoys what she does daily. Always smiling and always willing to teach others, she is constantly working to make the work environment better and to improve her nursing qualities as a whole.
