In my time at Galen, Ms. Shah has consistently distinguished herself from other members of the campus through her infectious enthusiasm for the profession and willingness to make herself available to students. To me, she is more than a CEM; she is a great mentor. She is always positive and encouraging at a time when we, as students, feel the pressures and stresses of school. She makes herself available to students and makes it known that she wishes nothing but success for us. This type of attitude is the epitome of what we as future nurses should strive for. Ms. Shah has gone out of her way to find us opportunities for learning and giving back to the community. We were involved in a Special Olympics event last year, and she was with us the entire time and engaging with us. She made a great effort in getting to know us as people. As stated previously, she has the most positive attitude of anyone I have encountered on campus, and she genuinely loves being involved with the students. She makes us feel seen and heard and makes every effort to give us the best experiences possible. Ms. Shah models many of the aspects of the iCare Model. She demonstrates great character by modeling professionalism when communicating with students regarding expectations for clinicals. When there have been hiccups (which there seem to be a lot of) she has gone above and beyond to find solutions. During the Maternal/ Peds quarter, she created a sim lab day for us so that we would not get behind. Ms. Shah shows great respect for us as students. She shows genuine interest in wanting to know our thoughts, and she actually listens. She also shows great respect for the faculty and PDs and speaks very highly of them. She wants Galen to be successful and a point of pride for us, and wants to help in any way possible. Ms. Shah's biggest asset is her compassion. She has a great sense of how we feel and does everything she can to encourage us and keep our spirits up.

I can without reservation say that I would not have gotten through any of this experience without her. She has been the most consistent, positive, and encouraging presence on this campus.
