I could not have managed the appointments, caretakers, and all that came from being his primary overseer without her help. She was like my family! There's no doubt in my mind about the level of care she had for my Dad and me through this journey.
The nominee has been my nurse in the VA Healthcare System for more than ten years and during that time she has demonstrated a superior knowledge and ability to coordinate my care within the VA system, which is sometimes baffling to me. She made my most recent illness experience trouble free, she took control of the situation and coordinated my care between the local hospital and the VA. She kept my VA doctors advised of my status and facilitated coordination of my post-discharge care. I am emphatically appreciative to have her monitoring and facilitating my health care. I look forward to hearing from her monthly, as she is always able to explain things I am not sure of concerning my health, treatment, and especially my medications. She is instrumental in coordinating my care. She has proven to be extremely knowledgeable, attentive, kind, caring, and supportive. She serves as a perfect example of how a professional should perform, and I feel extremely lucky to be under her care.

I am writing to let you know the depth of appreciation I have for your employee & my Dad's Nurse over the last 3 years. She was a Godsend to me & my Dad. Although she'd worked with my Dad since 2017, I met her in 2022 after he took a fall and was later diagnosed with Myesthenia Gravis. She helped navigate me to the different doctors that oversaw his care and to get the equipment he needed delivered to his home. My Dad passed away after battling the Myesthenia and Diabetes that led to infections & ultimately aspiration pneumonia. Like me, she knew my Dad for who he was, a stubborn, independent man who HATED giving up his independence. I could not have managed the appointments, caretakers, and all that came from being his primary overseer without her help. She was like my family! There's no doubt in my mind about the level of care she had for my Dad and me through this journey. I never felt my Dad was just another patient to any of them. These medical professionals all saw my Dad as a person, and I truly felt the care and concern they had for him. I am forever grateful to them all. Please pass along my gratitude to this team, and know that they changed my perception of the VA. Patients are fortunate and blessed to have staff like this.
