Every day, Rich goes above and beyond for his small pediatric patients and his work colleagues. Every day, Rich comes in with a smile on his face and his silly dad jokes. Rich always puts the children first. He makes them feel as comfortable as possible, even if they are sick. For example, He goes as far as taking the little girl’s baby doll’s vital signs to show her what it’s like. He gets every patient involved in their own care. He makes them feel safe and cared for while at the doctor's. He always tries to put a smile on their face or get a high five before leaving the room. He wants his patients to remember the good at the doctor's and not feel scared to come when they are sick or in need of something. Rich also provides tons of knowledge and information to every patient and family. He listens and he cares. Rich is a wonderful role model for the Sidney pediatric office. Someone once told me, “Be the coworker you want to work with,” and Rich is the prime example of just that. He knows the roles and is a huge team player. And if for some reason Rich doesn’t have the answer… he will find it. He will do the research and put the effort into getting whatever is needed. He provides a wonderful working environment. As his everyday work partner, I can tell you I love my job. I love our office and how it is run. I love going to work every day knowing I have a partner who is up for whatever the day brings us. Furthermore, the students who come through the office often remember Rich for all his knowledge, tips, and tricks for the NCLEX. He is a wonderful resource for them as he has been in pediatrics for 16 years. Overall, Rich should get this award, and he has well earned it. He deserves to be recognized for all the hard work, effort, and smiles he brings into his work environment day in and day out. Rich- thank you for everything you do.
