Brenda has shown us time after time that she is really listening to us and relating to us as a family, not just dealing with another patient. She has taken time to meet with me in person on our first interaction and remains in contact with me via phone calls and texts regarding my husband's placement after discharge.

His has been a difficult case; this last hospital stay has been 7 weeks and counting. She has gone above and beyond with me, making sure he and I were both being taken care of & that our best interests were being served. His PT needs and OT needs are proving difficult, and she is working hard to get us placed with Select LTACH upstairs, working along with their CM/SW as well, appealing after appeal with his insurance company. The insurance would rather he were just discharged, regardless of our safety.

Brenda has taken our safety as her primary concern since meeting me five weeks ago. She has coordinated between all interested parties since we met, and really shown our wellbeing means something to her, we are not just cogs stuck in a wheel. I do not know how I would have made it through this without her efforts and caring. Regardless of insurance appeals and how his eventual discharge goes, I know she has done her very best for us. All the staff at Cone have been wonderful, but Brenda has been our guardian angel through all this.
