To choose only one example of how Olivia has made a difference in patient care is impossible. She is a constant source of support for our entire department. She works diligently to ensure that staff have the physical and educational resources to perform their jobs safely, both for themselves and for their patients. In addition, she supports work-life balance for everyone. Knowing that we can ask for a day off to take a parent or child to an appointment, knowing that our department will flex so we can pick up or drop off our children at daycare, is invaluable. Olivia's door is always open to staff. We can drop in (almost) any time to vent, to ask questions, to seek support. As well as supporting staff as a manager, she is often providing exceptional patient care. She scrubs, she circulates, she mops the floor. When there is a gap in manpower or a problem with a piece of equipment, we call on our leader. Olivia's steadfast guidance and patience have a profound impact on the care provided by others every day.
