Teresa is an amazing nurse manager. I have worked alongside her for so many years now (since 2002) and grow more and more impressed by her each year.
Teresa has always been a strong leader, a strong manager, and a strong nurse. When the clinic has been short-staffed, she comes in scrubs and will hit the floor running. She's been a chemo checker, a chemo giver, she's accessed central lines (years ago, we had a patient who would only allow Teresa to access his deeply placed port-a-cath), draw labs, etc. She frequently visits the nurse's station to see how nurses are doing, if we've been to lunch, and always asks how she can help. When there's a rapid/code, she's on the floor helping to direct the flow and making herself available. She's also funny. She's professional, a solution finder, and will lend an ear. And she makes the best ranch dip for our staff meetings, equipped with healthy vegetables and Fritos. If you see her around, definitely give her a high five. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to work beside her for the last 10 years.

Teresa is one of the most fair, even-keeled, calm, and patient people I (we) have ever worked with. During this challenging time when we have been without a supervisor, and our awesome director is also leaving the organization, Teresa is handling the deficit with grace and poise. She is always visible and supportive in our busy, high-volume clinic, and always ready to jump in and assist with patient care. Teresa maintains professionalism, but still makes us feel like we are a family. I know that so many of us in this clinic say over and over again that even when the job is hard and we start feeling burnout or compassion fatigue--which we often do--we are able to continue because of our team, and Teresa is at the heart of our team. We are so fortunate to have such an exemplary leader who cultivates an environment of collaboration and kindness.
Most recently, she provided us with an opportunity to participate in Assertive Communication training, which we all benefited greatly from. She continues to seek out opportunities to keep us all engaged, as illustrated by the Autism Education we have planned next month. Suffice it to say, Teresa is our rock, and we would be lost without her.

Teresa is an amazing nurse manager. I have worked alongside her for so many years now (since 2002) and grow more and more impressed by her each year. Teresa will wear scrubs on high-volume patient days and jump into the clinic alongside her team of nurses to make sure all patients get the care they need. You always see her in the clinic, making sure everything is running smoothly in a kind and caring manner. She always has a welcoming smile when you talk to her, and you know that she is always giving you her utmost attention. She genuinely cares about her staff. She was understanding when the nurses went on strike, even though it meant putting in a lot of time on the floor herself. I am so lucky to have her as my boss. She is always supportive, kind, compassionate, and fair. Even after an incredibly hard day, you can't tell. Our floor has seen many hard days. Very sick kids that show up in the clinic, hard conversations with families that are acting out or getting upset with the staff. She never wavers. She meets these difficult challenges head-on in the most professional and kind ways. She was meant for this job, and I am so lucky to work alongside her.

Every day I come to work, I can count on Teresa to be there to provide the most sound guidance an employee could ever ask to receive. She's very professional in everything she does, and yet her care and compassion for the patients and the staff shine through. She goes out of her way to make sure I have the tools required to do my job, and checks in frequently to make sure all is running smoothly. Her ability to de-escalate patient families and staff alike with her calm demeanor. She is a sounding board when I am frustrated and always willing to listen and offer help if it's possible. She actually does the work in this clinic, jumping in when needed, and the value of this cannot be overstated. She helps me navigate my own workplace challenges with honesty and empathy. She is everything that is right with leadership at Rady, and I wouldn't be so successful in my position without her.
