She listened to our concerns and showed great compassion for the situation we were dealing with.
My husband was taken by ambulance to Howard County Medical Center in September for a severe allergic reaction he had to an Infliximab infusion related to his treatment of Crohn's Disease. Stephanie was working at the ER reception desk that day and could see that he needed care to treat the extreme symptoms he was having as a result of the infusion. Having been to the hospital multiple times in dealing with my husband's Crohn's symptoms, the pain that is associated with Crohn's is hard to explain. Still, as a family that has to deal with it, we know that the pain is so real and so complex at times to deal with. Stephanie was so aware of the struggle and pain we were going through that day.

She has a tough job, having to juggle all the patients who are waiting to be seen by the nurses and doctors for care, as well as the various ailments they are experiencing. I was grateful to Stephanie for recognizing our need for support and care, and she went out of her way to help us get seen as quickly as possible. She was attentive, kind, and very professional in working with us to secure a room as soon as possible and to ensure my husband's comfort. She listened to our concerns and showed great compassion for the situation we were dealing with. Even though Stephanie was not our nurse on the floor, she continued to check on us throughout our stay to ensure we were taken care of and if we needed anything. We were very grateful for her support and help during a difficult time.
