I am very privileged to call Chris not only my co-worker, but also my friend!
After I arrived at the hospital, I didn't go to the office as I usually do. Chris Cromier received a phone call from one of the nurse practitioners after the nurse practitioner found me to be disoriented and had attempted to get me to go to the ED to be checked out (I had refused). Chris came and could quickly tell that something was wrong. He told me that I was going to the ED, but he had to think of a way to get me there since I was refusing to go. He told me that he would help me find my car, but we had to go to the ED first. Since I was insisting that I was OK (and I clearly wasn't), Chris challenged me to show him that I knew the way to the ED. Once in the ED, Chris was able to relay some of my medical history to the M.D., thus aiding the M.D. to identify possible causes for my altered mental status. I ended up being admitted, transferred to another hospital campus, and having surgery. Additionally, Chris went looking for my car in the parking garage (since I didn't know where I had parked) and notified my father of the vehicle's location.
I am very grateful to Chris for his quick thinking to be able to get me to go to the ED that morning, and that he spoke with the ED M.D. to help him begin to identify the cause for the change in my mental status. I am also thankful that he took the time to locate my car and notify my father of its location. I am very privileged to call Chris not only my co-worker, but also my friend!
