I am honored to nominate Liz, RN/BSN, for the DAISY Award in recognition of the extraordinary care and compassion she provided to my son, G, during his time in the Emergency Room at Geneva General Hospital. When we arrived, my son was very sick, and as a parent, the fear and uncertainty were overwhelming. From the moment Liz walked into the room, she was a calming presence. She didn’t just provide medical care—she provided reassurance, comfort, and kindness that made all the difference in such a stressful moment. She asked thoughtful questions, listened intently, and validated my concerns as a mother, making me feel heard and understood. Liz was open and honest about every step of my son’s care, ensuring that my husband and I felt informed and involved in the process. Her transparency and professionalism put our minds at ease, while her warmth and empathy provided much-needed emotional support. In a situation that could have felt chaotic and frightening, Liz brought clarity and calm, not just for G but for our entire family. It is rare to find a nurse who so seamlessly blends clinical expertise with such deep compassion.
