Jenna brought leader standard work that focuses on improved patient safety, employee rounding, engagement, and patient satisfaction.
Jenna has been an incredibly motivating and instrumental leader within our hospital and organization. Through her leadership, she has helped our hospital to win MHA's Exceptional Hospital Workplace Award for two years in a row. She has a multitude of accomplishments that have positively impacted nurse leaders, employee satisfaction, and safe patient outcomes. I would like to highlight a few of her major accomplishments. Through innovative strategies, such as creating a committee using frontline nurses that focused on documentation excellence, they have paved the way to an exceptional Joint Commission survey, unlike any they had ever seen. It was stated by the surveyors that we have many leading best practices in place when compared to other parts of the country. Jenna brought leader standard work that focuses on improved patient safety, employee rounding, engagement, and patient satisfaction. Her efforts led to a significant reduction in patient falls with harm, leading the rest of the system in 2023 with some of the highest customer experience scores our hospital has had. Jenna developed a committee that created a process around appropriate Patient Safety Companion utilization, leading to a savings of over $242,000 in 2024. Jenna restructured our nursing professional governance committee to bring unity and collaboration across all units and subcommittees in the hospital. This frontline governance committee has been essential in moving forward nursing best practice and improving patient safety outcomes. When our hospital was significantly short-staffed, she worked with recruitment to come up with creative hiring solutions that closed the gap when there were over 100 FTEs needed within our site. Jenna has been instrumental in supporting nurse leaders as she is open to connecting with any leader or employee who has a concern and works to bring a resolution. She also does a formal check-in with nurse managers a few times a year to build strong connections and support them as needed. Jenna is a leader unlike any that I have seen and has created a lifelong imprint on her hospital, leadership team, and frontline staff.
