Cammy was a breath of fresh air when XX got out of surgery to have his right kidney removed. Cammy had 5 patients that day and was in our room 80% of the time, giving meds, getting him settled in the aftermath of his code blue the day before. She was always smiling, multitasking about four things at a time, entering reports on the computer, plus talking to other hospital staff on her phone. XX was a very challenging patient with multiple recent diagnoses and surgeries. He also had to go back to surgery to have an NG tube put in his nose. He was very sick. She pampered him! When I complimented her, she would just say, "Oh, I'm just doing my 'job'" and smile really big. I don't see how she took care of her other 4 patients along with XX. She was constantly checking on him when she had to go out of the room. Her pleasant attitude made the stay easier. XX would need something done, and she was always available and ready to get it for him. She was very engaging to XX's family and visitors. She would always tell us if there was ever anything we needed or wanted: “Just push the call button.” Even if she was just in the room, she would come back. She was excellent at reporting to the next shift EVERYTHING that had gone on. Even when she didn't have XX as a patient, she would wave and say hi when passing his room. She just makes anybody she is around feel good. She was always perky and positive!
