After being transferred immediately over to Gena’s care, she made me feel like I truly had an ally while receiving really scary news
I came into the ER with a bad headache and found out after my CT that I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage. After being transferred immediately over to Gena’s care, she made me feel like I truly had an ally while receiving really scary news. I was ordered a stat MRI. After she followed up with the MRI team on when I would receive my MRI, she took it on herself to follow up with the appropriate doctors to ensure it was completed before the staff went home for the day, after receiving some disheartening news that I would have to wait because the shift was almost over. It’s because of her that I was able to receive my MRI so promptly to find clots that led the neurology and neurosurgery team to decide not to operate on the bleed but rather to treat my clots with heparin, starting immediately that night. When I woke up in the ICU the following day, she came up just to check in on me. Truly so helpful in a really scary moment for me to make sure that I got the answers I needed quickly to determine the best treatment plan!
