Erin has the ability and desire to help each one of us work to our greatest strengths.  She consistently leads by example, always putting the needs of others before her own and advocating for the best possible outcomes for everyone involved.
Not that long ago, many of us felt undervalued and unappreciated, dreading the drive into work. In the short time Erin has been our nurse manager, the atmosphere has drastically changed into a place where we enjoy coming to work. Erin’s dedication has made an incredible difference in our daily lives and the lives of our patients. She is an outstanding leader and role model. She genuinely cares about each team member, and her support extends beyond the workplace. Erin’s kindness and consideration create a strong sense of camaraderie among us, making our department feel like a second family.  We hope by nominating her for this amazing award that she will know her dedication to our team and patients has not gone unnoticed, and we are truly fortunate to have her as our nurse manager.

Erin has the ability and desire to help each one of us work to our greatest strengths.  She consistently leads by example, always putting the needs of others before her own and advocating for the best possible outcomes for everyone involved. She sees the potential in each of us by nurturing our skills, helping us grow both personally and professionally. She always takes the time to listen to our concerns and provide guidance, making us feel supported, valued, and heard. Her encouragement and understanding boost our morale, even during the most demanding times. It is not uncommon to see Erin rolling up her sleeves and diving in. She’s even been known to throw on a hot dog suit from time to time.

Erin’s positive attitude, humor, collaborative approach, and ability to instill confidence in those around them are truly commendable and create a supportive environment for us to thrive in. We believe that Erin is an exceptional nurse manager who deserves recognition for their outstanding leadership abilities. Beyond her professional capabilities, her compassion and empathy have touched us all.

Erin Bieser is a shining star among managers. Her unwavering positivity, exemplary leadership, and compassionate support make her a deserving candidate for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. We are excited about the continued achievements we will accomplish as a team under her guidance, and we sincerely believe she deserves this recognition for her remarkable contributions.

Some examples from our team:
•    Erin stayed after clinic hours to sit with a patient waiting for their transportation to arrive.  Erin ordered dinner in for them both, having a pleasant visit while waiting.
•    Erin is unique as a manager because she fosters an environment in which EVERYONE feels safe and heard. You are sure to leave Erin's office feeling more confident and happier (because you probably had a good belly laugh or two). She handles situations thinking outside the box, always with the goal of patient safety and satisfaction in mind.  She simply makes you feel like a better nurse after each encounter with her.
•    It is not uncommon to walk directly into Erin's office with a problem and leave with a solution soon after, as her door is never shut, and she never turns us away. And if Erin isn't in her office, she is off working amongst the other nurses on the clinic floor, tackling the obstacles alongside us.
•    She sits and eats lunch with us and provides an uplifting environment where everyone feels included no matter your role in the department.
• Erin is very observant of her team and the patients, taking into consideration both the health and well-being of everyone around her. She can create a kids' play area in a busy waiting room area and remind staff to provide snacks and water to patients that may be waiting in the lobby (and even dog treats to the patients' dogs that tag along).  She makes sure that her co-workers are doing the things that make them happy/relaxed so that we can fully apply ourselves at work (whether that be going on a walk after lunch, drinking water, using her yoga mats to lay outside, etc).
•    Erin is constantly brainstorming ways to improve patient care, while valuing the input of her staff. As someone who is new to our staff and a new nurse, she has instilled both confidence and competence into me by performing consistent and effective check-ins, providing me with learning opportunities, and ensuring I am at my best, so I can provide patient care to my best potential.  I have the utmost respect for Erin, as she is the nurse we all aspire to be.
