Dan was a great, excellent, superb RN who took care of my husband in a stressful, difficult, and sensitive situation. My husband was very appreciative of how Dan explained everything and made sure to use PRN doses of medication to provide comfort and prevent worsening of the condition. My husband was also impressed that Dan would squat/kneel by the bed, so he would be at eye level with him. He was able to build rapport quickly due to his willingness to take the time to answer questions and his use of humor. He also kept me informed of changes in my husband’s condition. He is truly deserving of this award. I am also speaking from my experience as a former colleague. Dan is always helpful and in a great mood! I have never seen him upset or rude! We need more nurses like Dan! My husband’s mom was very impressed by Dan’s care. He was respectful and attentive. We felt so comfortable leaving for a short break, knowing he was in good and caring hands.
